Please see the attached flyer regarding Picture Day on Friday, September 16th.
Welcome all students, parents, community members, and guests to Chilton Middle School.
Our Philosophy and Mission are based upon the development of the whole child as they proceed from Elementary School to High school. Students are at a critical stage of growth and development in their lives, which creates an exciting and always changing environment. Being able to meet each student where they are and give them the individualized support that they need is our primary goal. We are focused on building relationships that develop trust and an understanding of how to be a positive member of an ever changing society.
CMS offers many great opportunities for our students. Academically, we utilize rigorous curriculum that is in coordination with our state standards. Our school uses College Preparatory Mathematics, Book Club/Book Choice and language development in our Literacy Classes, NGSS standards within our Science courses, and is utilizing the newly developed State Social Studies standards. Our Related Arts courses build off of the core academics and gives the students meaningful experiences to develop their individual skill sets. All of this comes with the students ability to showcase their learning in multiple ways, because not all students learn the same way.
In addition to our educational programs, we offer a large assortment of co-curricular activities which help develop and instill confidence in our students. Furthermore, the focus on the Arts is shown through our great productions in the Middle School Musicals.
The Chilton Community is the foundation on which this school is developed. We welcome and encourage engagement with all families and community members. Thank you for making us better each day.
I look forward to communicating with you and learning more on how you can help our school continue to grow. Please feel free to call 920-849-9152 or email kielm@chilton.k12.wi.us in regards to our school. If you would like a personal tour of our facility I would gladly set up a time with you.
Thank you for your continued support.
Matt Kiel, Principal
The Chilton Middle School will provide students with a variety of developmentally appropriate learning experiences that will promote intellectual, physical, moral, and social-emotional growth in a safe environment. The staff will ensure the academic growth of each student by providing for individual differences. We will create a learning community that challenges students to assume responsibility for their own behavior and enhances their self-image. We will provide for their success in a supportive and caring environment, while focusing on each student as a lifelong learner.
CMS Philosophy
We, the staff at the Chilton Middle School, are committed to the belief that transescents are at a unique and critical stage in their growth and development and that the emphasis of our school program should be on helping them to become lifelong learners while keeping in mind their fragile self-concept.

We are progressively utilizing technology to enhance the way we organize our conference times. This will increase the efficiency of the conferences as a whole and will assist in staff preparation for each individual’s conference time. With the assistance of many members of our faculty, we have created a system to use this fall. Using the web service PTCFast, we have created time slots to sign up for individual meeting times. We will not deny a conference to anyone that wants to meet. If the time slots available do not work with your schedule, please contact the staff member you would like to meet with to schedule a time that works for you on an alternative date. Remember, we maintain open doors throughout the year. We look forward to having this system assist our scheduling process and alleviate any lines that would have formed or confusion on when to arrive. We must advise, that if you did not sign up for a slot do not show up that night expecting to have a conference with a staff member.
The link for signing up will be made available on Nov. 1 at 7:00am and will stay open until Nov. 8 at 3:15pm.
