Board of Education Meeting
Monday, November 20, 2017, at 6:00 pm
Community Room of the High School Building

The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, November 20, 2017.

1. Call to order
Mr. Randy Lisowe called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

2. Roll call of members
Present: Bailey, Brickl, Criter, Koenigs, Lisowe
Also Present: Mrs. Sue Kaphingst, Mrs. Pam Schuster, Mr. Ty Breitlow, Mr. Matt Kiel, Mrs. Amanda Potratz, Mrs. Dawn Bartel, and Mr. Nathan Schmitz.

3. Verification of notice pursuant to s.19.84(1)(3) Wis. Stats. Notices were properly posted.

4. Pledge of Allegiance

5. Delegations: This is the time for any person attending the meeting as an observer to express a particular comment or concern.

-Acceptance of the following Gift(s) to the District:

-Donation - Melissa Giebel, Run T.A.L.L. 5K for Bullying Prevention - $500.00 awarded to Chilton Elementary School.

-Donation - Mid-Shores Home Builders Association Inc. in partnership with Drexel Building Supply in Kiel - a Paslode F-350P PowerMaster Pro 30 Degree Nailer, and a box
of Paslode Groove Shank Roundrive Strip Nails to Chilton High School Vocational Arts Department.

-Donations - Hilde's Deli & Bakery, Vern's Cheese, Inc., Chilton Furniture and Kwik Trip, Inc. - to Chilton High School Super High Mileage Club.

-Donation - Kaytee Products, Inc. - $1,300.00 worth of cages, small animal food, chews, hideouts, bedding and treats to Chilton High School Vocational Arts Department.

-Donation - Chilton Lions Club - $1,000.00 to Chilton Middle School Student Council.

There was a motion by Mr. David Bailey, seconded by Mrs. Donna Koenigs to amend the agenda to move Spotlight on Learning from No. 8 New Business under letter B. to No. 5
under Delegations. All ayes, motion carried.

There was a motion by Mr. Dave Bailey, seconded by Mr. Corey Brickl to approve the following gifts to the District:

6. Consent Items: (Board members may remove consent items on the agenda for discussion and/or separate action.)

There was a motion by Mr. Corey Brickl, seconded by Mr. Terry Criter to approve the following consent agenda items:

Approval of minutes from previous board meetings, to include committee meetings.

Approval of bills as presented and authorize payment of check #210006 - #210070 and ACH #171800243 - #171800315. The November receipts were $121,067.83. The November
disbursements including payroll were $1,014,989.73.

All ayes, motion carried.

A. Approval of minutes from previous board meetings, to include committee meetings.

7. Old Business

A. President's Report - The Board President will update the Board on various topics.

REMINDERS:

-The WASB State Convention will be held in Milwaukee from January 17 - 19, 2018.  Early Bird Registration Deadline is December 15, 2017. Please let Dawn Bartel know if
you plan to attend.

-School Board Elections - The deadline for filing Notification of Non-Candidacy is December 22, 2017, and the deadline for filing Declaration of Candidacy and
Campaign Registration Statement is January 2, 2018.

*Please be aware that school offices will be closed for the holiday on December 25, 26, 29, 2017 and January 1, 2018. All school offices may be closed on December 27 and
28, 2017.

-Approval of a Coding Club at Chilton High School - The Board of Education will be asked to approve a Coding Club at Chilton High School.

-Approval of Chilton Creators/Make Mondays Club at Chilton Middle School - The Board of Education will be asked to approve Chilton Creators/Make Mondays Club at
Chilton Middle School.

-Approval of Science Olympiad - The Board of Education will be asked to approve Science Olympiad.

Policy Committee Report:

The Policy Committee met on November 14, 2017. The first reading of Volume 26 - No. 2 and TECH Updates Phase I, II, III will take place at the December 18, 2017 Board of
Education meeting.

Co-Curricular Committee Report:

The Co-Curricular Committee met on November 13, 2017.

There was a motion by Mr. Dave Bailey, seconded by Mrs. Donna Koenigs to approve a Coding Club at Chilton High School. All ayes, motion carried.

There was a motion by Mr. Corey Brickl, seconded by Mr. Dave Bailey to approve Chilton Creators/Make Mondays Club at Chilton Middle School. All ayes, motion carried.

There was a motion by Mrs. Donna Koenigs, seconded by Mr. Terry Criter to approve Science Olympiad. All ayes, motion carried.

Finance Committee Report - No report.

Buildings and Grounds Committee Report - No report.

C. Approval of the Amended Budget - The Board will be asked to approve an amendment to the budget for the 2017-2018 school year.

There was a motion by Mr. Corey Brickl, seconded by Mrs. Donna Koenigs to approve an amendment to the budget for the 2017-2018 school year. All ayes, motion carried.

8. New Business

A. Student Board Representative Report - Mr. Nathan Schmitz, Student Council Board of Education Representative, will provide an update to the Board on current student
topics.

Spotlight on Learning - Middle School Students/Staff was moved to No. 5 under Delegations.

C. Greenhouse Radiant Heat Project - The Board of Education will be asked to approve a Greenhouse Radiant Heat Project at Chilton High School.

There was a motion by Mr. Dave Bailey, seconded by Mr. Terry Criter to approve the Greenhouse Radiant Heat Project at Chilton High School. All ayes, motion carried.

D. Approval of Staff Compensation - The Board will be asked to approve the utilization of dollars saved from health insurance premiums as a one-time
compensation for Chilton Public School employees.

There was a motion by Mr. Corey Brickl, seconded by Mrs. Donna Koenigs to approve the utilization of dollars saved from health insurance premiums as a one-time

10. Convene into closed session pursuant to State Statute 19.85(1)(c)(f) & (g) to discuss the Superintendent's performance evaluation and approve closed session minutes.

There was a motion by Mr. Terry Criter, seconded by Mr. Dave Bailey to convene into closed session to discuss the Superintendent's performance evaluation and approve closed session
minutes. Upon a roll call vote, that motion carried with unanimous consent. Ayes: Lisowe, Criter, Brickl, Bailey and Koenigs.

11. Reconvene in open session and act on matters discussed in closed session if necessary and appropriate.

12. Adjournment

There was a motion by Mr. Terry Criter, seconded by Mr. Corey Brickl to adjourn the meeting. All ayes, motion carried.
