CHS Wall of Honor's First Induction Class

Chilton High School announces its first induction class for the Chilton High School Wall of Honor.  The five inductees for the class of 2009 are Gail Rusch, Patricia Jehn (Freidel), Thomas Dhein, John Freidel and Tracy (Schmotzer) Winkler.

Gail Rusch was All-American in Cross Country while attending UW-La Crosse from 1975-1979.  Gail was the first female All-American at UW-La Crosse.  Patricia Jehn participated in seven different WIAA state meets including four in swimming, 2 in gymnastics and one in track and field.  Thomas Dhein was WIAA State Champion in both the 220 and 440 track and field events in 1962 and 1963.  Thomas is a member of the CHS graduating class of 1964.  In addition to track, Thomas starred on the  football field and earned numerous honors there as well.  John Freidel is a retired teacher, coach and athletic director for CHS.  John served Chilton High School as a Physical Education teacher for thirty-seven years, District Athletic Director for twenty-seven years and coached four different programs during those years.  Tracy Schmotzer was a member of the CHS Girls Basketball team that captured the WIAA Division 3 State Championship in 1992.  In that same season, Tracy earned First Team All – State honors for her talents on the basketball court.  Tracy continued with basketball at the University of Wisconsin on a full athletic scholarship.  Please join us at our Wall of Honor game Friday, February 27.  We will recognize these five individuals during halftime of the Reedsville vs. Chilton boys basketball game.  Following the game, an open reception will be held in the high school commons.
