Middle Schoolers Have Lunch Choices!

 

To the Families and Students of Chilton Public School District:

Starting December 1 in the Middle School, students in the 5-8th grades will have additional choices at lunch!  We will have 2 separate bars for them – a cold lunch bar, where they may choose from a deli style sandwich or a PB&J, and then they may head to the salad bar to fill their trays up; and the familiar hot lunch bar, with a main entrée, side, and the salad bar as well.  Hopefully, this will encourage more kids to eat a well-rounded meal. 

Please take note that every student in the Chilton District is offered both breakfast and lunch – Middle Schoolers from 7:30-7:45, Elementary classes come down with their teachers, and High School kids have nutrition break mid-morning.  The cost for this is $1.15 district-wide ($.30 reduced).

If you are interested in filling out a Free/Reduced Price meal application, they are available in any of the school offices as well as on the district website.  You can mail them in or drop them off at any time during the school year.

Welcome back to a new and exciting year at Chilton Middle School.  As the excitement builds towards the beginning of the year, I am personally honored to be in the position I am here as your principal.  I truly enjoy working in Chilton and the joys and challenges that come from it honestly makes every day never the same.

 

We do have the most challenging and crucial job in the world!  It’s a job in which we cannot fail.  I ask that all of you think back to the energy you had during your first year and try and repeat that enthusiasm.  Our mission is very important and our future really does depend upon the education and character of our youth.

 

Please note if your child is in grades 7-12 and is participating in a sport, there is a MANDATORY eligibility meeting on August 8th will begin at 5:00p.m. at the Engler Center located at the High School and will be repeated every 30 minutes until 7:30pm.  Beginning at 4:00 that day we will take school fees and co-curricular fees for the high school students, you can also turn in any updated paperwork and pick up physical forms if needed.  See the attached fee form for information on costs.

If you don’t have a student in High School the registration days for you will be August 16 or 17th and will take place in the Elementary/Middle school cafeteria from 10:00-6:00.  The August 16 or 17th meeting times will only be for paying fees and dropping off paper work, students will not be able to go to class rooms, that will take place at the PTA open house on August 30th from 4:00pm – 6:00pm

 Our schedules have changed for the 2011-12 school year!  I have attached our new schedules and will explain them further at the PTA Open House on August 30th.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions that you may have regarding these changes.

I have also attached several other documents that I feel will be helpful for you as we prepare for our year!
