Dear Parents –
For several years, one of the highlights of our performance calendar has been the spring choir concert that features students in grades 5-12. Throughout the past few years, this concert has also grown to be one of our biggest. In order to address the overcrowding situation, we are going to try something new this year. This year, we are going to perform the concert entitled “Go Light Your World” twice – May 25th at 1 pm and 7 pm.
To facilitate audiences at both performances, we are going to make both of them “ticketed events”. That means you must have a ticket to get in. The tickets will be available AT NO CHARGE to you by going to www.englercenter.com. These tickets will be general admission (not assigned seats) and we have put a limit of 10 per family/per performance on during the pre-sale event.
The pre-sale event will open Friday, April 22nd and run through Friday, May 6th. WHEN ORDERING TICKETS THROUGH THE PRE-SALE, PLEASE USE THE PASSWORD CHOIR TO COMPLETE THE ORDER. The window will then close for a couple of days so we can evaluate seating availability at both performances. Pending the results of our evaluation, we then plan to re-open the window with no restrictions from May 9th until the time of the performances on May 25th.
We hope that opening up a second performance will ease the audience over-crowding issue and provide a better experience for the audience and the performers. Please be sure to share this information with grandparents, friends and other relatives that plan on coming to the concert to ensure everyone who wants to see the performance is able to do so.
We sincerely appreciate your continued support of the music program at Chilton. It is a pleasure to work with your children. If you should have any questions, please feel free to contact any of us listed at the bottom of this letter and we will be happy to help you!

Chilton School District is being recognized as one of Best Communities for Music Education in the United States in 2016 by the NAMM Foundation.
With this prestigious accolade from a nationwide non-profit foundation, Chilton is demonstrating its commitment to innovative learning opportunities for all children as outlined in the new federal Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) which lists music and the arts as recommended subjects as important for a well-rounded education for all students.
Dear Parents of Choir and Band Students –
We invite you to an informational event that will address two large projects within the music department – hosting solo and ensemble festival on 3/12/16 and the 2017 Spring Music Tour to Nashville/Savannah/Louisville!
We will host this informational event on Monday, February 29 in the Engler Center for the Performing Arts at CHS. We will be available from 6-8 pm. The formal meeting will begin at 6:30 pm. We will be handing out preliminary itineraries/information/costs/chaperone opportunities for the trip and getting initial sign up numbers to continue planning. We will also be soliciting volunteers to help with solo/ensemble festival. We will need door monitors/room monitors/runners/judges’ lunch helpers/concession stand help. Parents and students can volunteer. All money earned from the concession stand will go toward the spring 2017 trip.
ALL 2016-2017 Choir and Band students are eligible to go on the spring 2017 trip – no matter what choir your child is registered for. Since this trip is the first combined band/choir trip, we feel it is important to have everyone on the same page hearing the same information at the same time. If you are a parent of a 2016 graduate that is performing at solo/ensemble, we would also like to have you at the meeting for volunteering purposes.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call/email and ask. The HS phone number is 849-2358.
Thanks so much!
