April 21 Chilton Athletic Contests Cancelled Due to Inclement Weather

The athletic events scheduled for Chilton High School today (Tuesday, April 21) have been cancelled due to inclement weather. Cancellations include the high school track meet at Morrissey Field, the Varsity and JV Softball games at Reedsville and the Varsity Baseball game at home vs. Reedsville. In addition, the JV Boys Golf meet at Badger Creek has been cancelled and rescheduled for Wednesday, April 22 with an earlier start time of 3:00 p.m. Middle School Track practice at Morrissey Field has also been cancelled for today.

Many people believe that public schools can tax as much as they want for operations and that these citizens that attend the annual meeting are the only ones that control the school’s taxing authority. This was true until fifteen years ago, but now it is primarily the State of Wisconsin that controls public school’s taxing ability.

April 6 Varsity/JV Baseball Game at Chilton Rescheduled for April 17

The Chilton High School Varsity and JV baseball games vs. Fox Valley Lutheran scheduled to be played at Chilton today (Monday, April 6), have been rescheduled for Friday April 17 due to weather conditions. Game time is 4:30 p.m. The Varsity game will be played on the Chilton High School Field and the JV game will be played at Nennig Park.

March 31 Chilton Baseball at Little Chute Rescheduled for April 3

The Chilton Varsity and JV Baseball game originally scheduled at Little Chute on March 31 has been cancelled and rescheduled for Friday, April 3 due to the weather and field conditions. The game time will remain at 4:30 p.m. The Varsity will play at Little Chute High School Field and the JV will play at Van Lieshout Park in Little Chute.

CE&MS Library will celebrate School Library Media Month in April by planning different activities including the 22nd Annual Chilton Public School Libraries’ Trivia Contest, National Poetry Month, 4th Grade Reading Sleepover, National Library Week, Library Fine Amnesty Week, a Library Tea, NO-TV Week, Family Reading Night, and distributing Children’s Book Week Bookmark Contest winner’s bookmarks.

Chilton Celebrates Read Across America

 

thumb_2009_readacrossamerica_1Chilton Elementary & Middle Schools honored Dr. Seuss’ 105th birthday on March 2nd by celebrating Read Across America Day, sponsored by the National Education Association.  Students were treated to a breakfast of green eggs and ham and special guest reader, Chilton School Board President, Paul Meier.  Students took a reading pledge and sang Happy Birthday to Dr. Seuss (Theodor Seuss Geisel).  The Cat in the Hat with Thing 1 and Thing 2 were seen roaming the school, but stayed close to the library media center.

Board of Education - Candidate Forum

 

The Chilton Parent-Teacher Association will host a candidate forum for the upcoming Board of Education election on Tuesday, April 7, 2009. The PTA sponsored forum will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. in the Engler Center for the Performing Arts. The forum will provide Chilton community members with an opportunity to hear directly from Mrs. Deb Hintz and Mr. Larry Hedrich, candidates for the open seat on the Chilton Public School Board of Education. The two candidates will be asked questions pertinent to the position by Mr. James Moran, forum moderator. Both candidates will have an opportunity to personally address each question. Audience members will also be able to ask questions. Get involved. Be informed. Attend the forum and vote on April 7, 2009!
