On-line Payment Option for Families Available

Jun292010

On-line Payment Option for Families Available

The School District of Chilton continues to offer the program called e-Funds for Schools. This program offers various options for parents/guardians who choose to make payments on-line and is extremely user friendly. Not only do you have the ability to have various school fees and lunch payments electronically withdrawn from your checking account or charged to your credit card, you also have the flexibility to make a payment at any time through the school’s website. The e-Funds For Schools service is offered to you by a third party service provider and they charge for processing your payment(s), similar to other on-line banking services. The district does not request or keep records of family checking or credit card account information.

2010-2011 BUDGET REDUCTION RECOMMENDATIONS

District 2010-2011 Budget Reduction Recommendations Attached.

Per the communities request, we have computed what it would cost if we successfully passed a one year $300,000 referendum to exceed the revenue limit.  This referendum would increase the mill rate approximately $0.61 per $1,000.  For a district resident with a $100,000 property value, your taxes would go up approximately $61.  More information regarding referendums to exceed the revenue limit will be available at the February 8, 2010 meeting at 7:30 p.m.

CHANGE IN 2009/2010 SCHOOL CALENDAR SNOW DAY MAKE-UP

Jan052010

CHANGE IN 2009/2010 SCHOOL CALENDAR SNOW DAY MAKE-UP

To School District of Chilton parents, guardians, students and community members,

Just prior to the holiday break, the Chilton Education Association and the Chilton Board of Education ratified the teacher’s contract for the 2009-2010 and 2010-2011 school years. All aspects of the newly ratified contract are retroactive to the start of the 2009-2010 school year. This includes the make-up of snow days. The new contract language indicates that teachers will make-up all snow days for the purpose which they were originally intended. Therefore, the snow day that occurred on Wednesday, December 9, 2009, will be made up on Monday, April 5, 2010. Monday, April 5, 2010 was originally scheduled as part of the spring break holiday. Now, Monday, April 5, 2010 will be an instructional day for all School District of Chilton students. Please mark this change on your calendars accordingly. Any future inclement weather days taken within the 2009-2010 school year will be added on to the end of the school year in June. If any days are added on to the school year in June, parents, students and community members will be notified through school newsletters, the district website, student announcements, and local newspapers.
